The Printed Menagerie: I see photography and digital art as a great way to express myself.  Over the past four years, I have developed my skills in art and in planning and executing projects. I enjoy working with digital illustration, darkroom photography, digital photography, and Photoshop. As a result, I decided to make my final project a synthesis of several of these areas. Using my photographs of the animals as a guide, I began by creating a vector illustration of each animal.  I printed several copies of each one, laser cut them out into layers, and glued the layers together to make the three-dimensional animal heads. I chose to use animals as my subjects because last year, I experimented with some animal vector art and found myself really enjoying the process. In this past year I have really refined my technique for making these animal portraits, and I am excited to continue making art like this in the future.
