Editorial Eats

I love to experiment with different techniques, lighting, and subjects. Having dealt with a few messy shoots previously, from 3D twizzler pies to beets in the sky covered in glitter, for my senior project I initially wanted to create geometric designs with fruits, nuts, and vegetables. However, they quickly transformed into pieces that were more oriented toward food magazine styles. I have really enjoyed creating yummy set ups in hopes of invoking a specific theme or season such as summer, celebration, citrus, and especially delicious food. I have found that when you shoot things you love, like food, it makes it easier to emphasize specific aspects of what makes it so yummy or pretty or aesthetically pleasing. This project has really encouraged me to allow exploration to guide the project and to let creativity take me where it will instead of sticking to the initial plan. - Juliana C.
