Ellen Meltzer

My goal is to create a sense of comfort and familiarity in what I make, the feeling of being in the place I have made, or wanting to be there.

I believe that you cannot create something that holds meaning if it holds none to you. The highest quality work is work that is made with a clear intention of personability. As an artist, I hold the belief that pieces of art do not have to have entirely new and revolutionary compositions, or loud messages in order to hold the connection we look to bring to the viewer. My goal is to create a sense of comfort and familiarity in what I make, the feeling of being in the place I have made, or wanting to be there.
