PrismatiC Identity

Over the years, I have constantly returned back to the idea of putting a photo in pieces or making cutouts on the images. This series is ultimately a culmination of all of those ideas into one concise formula. These pieces are a representation of my growth as an artist. As my series progressed, I found myself increasing the level of detail on each portrait and decreasing the size of the triangles, which allowed me to create more realism by accentuating shadows, values, and detailed facial features/structures. Each triangle was hand-placed with the goal of matching the tonality and dimensionality of the original photographic image. “Prismatic Identity” consists of six pieces that emerged from this technique. - Izzy C.
