The central idea of my capstone is the portrayal of my ideas and interests in traditional landscape and perspective. Throughout the year, I have been studying how to use spray paint to create different types of effects such as texture and atmosphere. I am interested in different kinds of perspective, and have explored how to draw in 4- and 5-point perspective throughout the year. I am interested in artists such as Keith Haring and Takashi Murakami, who use their art to blur the line between high and low art. I am influenced by Van Gogh, and I am fascinated by how he uses his brush to create such diverse and expressive marks. A recurring theme in my work is the creation of surreal and sublime environments.
