Beginning Sculpture and Design

Students become familiar with the fundamental skills of art making, develop visual literacy, and practice artistic thinking. Students learn multiple construction techniques including additive, subtractive, modeling, and assembly methods as well as digital design. Students explore materials such as metal, clay, wood, plaster, and found objects. In addition, they experience 3D printing, laser cutting and architectural design.

I make art because it allows me to express my thoughts and ideas by making something with my hands and it allows me to have fun. art makes people in the community think about a piece’s meaning and it makes them have some kind of opinion that they can share with others. - Patrick L.
