Advanced Sculpture and Design

Students explore a variety of advanced sculptural media and techniques including but not limited to throwing on the wheel, digital design, mold making, plaster casting and advanced woodworking.  Students will analyze the work of leading contemporaries in 21st century visual culture.

The reason why I love art so much is because it is a fun and relax way to get away from the stress that comes with school and life. I think art is really good at teaching because it tells us to think at a higher level and examine more closely. I believe this quote applies in many things in our world today. All people see the world through different lenses and based on that art can be an outlet for each individual to find an underlying message that relates specifically to them. This inspires me to make art and to give people an outlet for their imagination to run wild. Art is something that will always be a big part of our culture because no matter what the piece is, someone will always find a way to convey it to their lives. - Hunter H
